Merritt has begun pretty rigorous physical therapy. We go to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) twice a week and also do therapy at home everyday. The heart wrenching, soul moving, bring tears to your eyes moment is watching your 3 yo daughter supporting all her front weight on her hands and trying to lift her head to finish a puzzle when the muscles just won't work!! Wiping tears with the back of her hand and fighting to rotate her head with teeth gritted.... Just rip my heart out. Merritt has always been a tough cookie but once this ordeal is over there will be no stopping her... Guaranteed! #fightlikeagirl #strongbody #strongmind
And those two brothers laid on the floor and cheered her through it, raced her in the "wheel barrowing" event and clapped at each victory! Whew... What an emotional day!
