Dressed for dinner

Cory said he'd have the kids dressed and ready to go to San Marcos... And he did. When we arrived I noticed Sibley dress was actually a night gown, Merritt's shoes on the wrong feet and shorts on backwards and render in long sleeves in August. The fun was great as usual!!

Airplanes in church

Then I heard him quietly say to his sister..."I could just float it over the balcony"

Sewing silence

I'm reading while kids come and go to the living room from the sewing room. I've heard statements like "sew a patch on one of his shirts", "think mom would mind if I used this", "wish I could just wear my underwear... Am I wearing underwear?" but mostly it's been silent .... Should I be concerned....

While merritt makes biscuits...

Pictures from my phone from Glen Cove with the Adams. One day I'll upload the real pics from my camera.

More SGI 2016

Look at Merritt swim!!!! (Right corner, pink goggles) Ok so I didn't realized in the last 9 years what life would be like once ALL my kids were swimming. It is wonderful!!! And freeing!! And joyful!!! I actually have my vacation back!!!!

I'll get it myself

I can't remember if I already posted these pics of merritt helping herself to a Popsicle.

Used the knife and cleaned up the mess all by herself... Probably because I had told her "no more Popsicles"
And she didn't realize I was watching!

Returning from the library

I couldn't find merritt...and yes she's naked

SGI 2016

What we thought was sponge is actually egg casing. I've learned more about our sea treasures this year than ever before thanks to Apologia and the nature Center.

Catching lizards at Gardy market after a visit to our favorite Downtown Books and Purl.

Give your child the world book club

It all starts with multi-cultural week.
This should really say... How not to make an apple pie!!! Haha! The book is super cute and worth the read.

Last week was for Africa in our #giveyourchildtheworld book club. These are just a few of the books and materials we used. The kids favorite was my picture album from a trip to South Africa. My favorite part was after reading about Uganda in the Compassion magazine all my kids prayed for food and fresh water for these families. #readaloudrevival #compassioninternational

The Game of Mancala was originally from Africa.

We are behind due to a week of vacation but picking up on Europe now. I will say at the end of "boxes for katje" I cried. My kids immediately responded with solemn faces and questions about WWII. I pray that no matter what happens in this world they become compassionate world citizens.

Did you know that I always associate matryoshka dolls with Russia, most people do, but they were originally made in China. I did my best while reading to produce the "hard" letter sounds in the Russian names but I can tell the kids weren't convinced that's how it really sounds 😂.

In the Bay

Cory and Gaitz had time in the mornings to fish the bay in their new kayaks.
The rest of us were able to join them for one afternoon.
I must admit it was a lot of fun!

We found hermit crabs, sea snails, and lots of oysters.

Sibley might have enjoyed Gaitz's kayak as much as he did.
She said she wants to ask Santa for one... in pink and purple.

A little oyster bar mishap...

A good time was had by all...

SGI 2016

Nature center today!

We found egg casings like this on the beach but couldn't identify till today!

Great books from Uptown Books and Purl to read while kids catch lizard at Grady Market courtyard.
