Slow Saturday morning

Cory and Gaitz are hunting. Render is in my room asleep. Sibley fixed her and merritt breakfast in bed and I'm knitting.... Slow Saturday.

A good day

A good day... Visiting with friends in the morning, stopping by the quilt shop, lunch at moms with the littles, picking up a tractor tire, finishing errands, taking all 4 to get library cards, watching Gaitz and sibley wrangle the chickens back into the hen house, chicken and dumplings on the stove and for dessert.... Sugar cookies with a poetry tea.

...

Merritt makes sibley rub her back every night at bedtime. Gaitz reads to Render. Sharing rooms is still working out.

~tonight i was chatting with sibley after merritt fell asleep. She was talking about her friends having crushes. "Sibley, do you have a crush?" "No, ma'am... But if I did it'd be daddy"

Projects

This morning I started work with a seed stitch after
the ribbing of the brim.
I've never worked this stitch before and seems
easy enough if I can get my husband to not talk
to me while I'm trying to concentrate
on purl and knit. Haha!

I might have a fabric addiction issue.
Not sure what I'm going to use these for
but I LOVE THEM!

These folks ALWAYS keep us laughing.
We are so blessed to have them in our lives!

January hike

Wolf den loop was EXTREMELY busy on this crazy warm holiday weekend in January but the kids loved it!

Happening up the road

My cool neighbor milks jerseys. Milk fever (hypocalcemia) on a Friday afternoon gives us the chance to go visit and the kids to play.
Cory and the farmer's father taking turns carrying the calf back to the barn after the mama cow was up on her feet.

Looking good...

Because I had slipped my husbands crocs on to go get a pizza... I was in the car when My neighbor called and it wasn't worth turning back. Guess this shows how far removed I am from the large animal veterinary world these days.
